This site is my personal blog and a place for me to put some of my thoughts to print regarding technology, consulting, observations and the things I find interesting or are overly passionate about - usually virtualization consulting.

I am a consultant and principal architect working for a North American technology solutions provider where my current role is leading architecture transformation engagements with clients.  I have been working as a consultant for almost 10 years at my current employer (http://www.longviewsystems.com) and am based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.   In my role I get to work with clients of all sizes transforming their data center and technology solutions to better serve their business goals.

In Early March 2013 I was grinning ear to ear when I learned that I had been successful in completing a multiple year journey to become VMware Certified Design Expert #106.

I also enjoy public speaking and have had the opportunity to present at regional virtualization events, deliver a short speaking spot at VMware Partner Exchange (2013 in Las Vegas), and am a contributing member of the VMware Partner Technical Advisory Board, the VCE (now EMC Converged Systems) Partner Technical Advisory Board, and in the past have also contributed partner feedback on the FlexPod Converged Product.

Prior to joining Long View Systems, I worked for a rapidly expanding international energy services company for over six years.  This was my first job in IT and this fast paced environment gave me all the challenge and opportunity I could handle.  This was also the place where I first saw what VMware virtualization could do (ESX 2.5), worked on my first SAN (EMC CLARiiON), and was introduced to several consultants from my current employer.  When the time came to move onto the next challenge - I already knew where I wanted to work and that I wanted to be a virtualization consultant.

I get to work with a lot of really great people: clients, partners, peers & members of my own organization.  This enables me to learn something everyday - which is why I wanted to become a consultant in the first place.

Every day I am learning to be a better consultant and architect through interacting with each of you.
